Short answer
LegalZoom charges $45 standard or $75 rush for a Certificate of Good Standing, with your state filing fee added on top. We charge from $50 with the state fee already included. LegalZoom fits owners who want attorney access and one account for formation, agent service and compliance. We fit anyone who wants one certificate, priced in full, and nothing else.
GetGoodStanding and LegalZoom, line by line
| GetGoodStanding | LegalZoom | |
|---|---|---|
| What the price is | From $50, all in. One number, quoted before you pay. | $45 standard or $75 rush. Both are service fees. |
| Is the state filing fee included? | Yes. Where the state charges $25 or less, the total stays $50. Above that, the price is the state fee plus $25, rounded up to the nearest $5. | No. Their page reads "+ state filing fees" on both tiers, so the state charge is added to the $45 or the $75. |
| Turnaround, as published | Most certificates delivered in 1 to 2 business days, same day in the states whose portals issue instantly. | No processing time is published for the standard tier. The rush tier describes 2-day shipping once the certificate is ready. |
| Expedited option | No rush tier. Where a state sells its own expedite, that cost is inside the price you see for that state. | Rush at $75 plus state filing fees. |
| What arrives | A signed PDF by email, accepted by banks, landlords and counterparties. A paper original by USPS Priority is an add-on. | Their page describes obtaining the certificate from the state and sending it to you; the rush tier adds 2-day delivery. |
| Coverage | All 50 states plus the District of Columbia. | Their page says they can help in all 50 states. |
| Legal advice | None. We are a document retrieval service, not a law firm. | Attorney help is offered alongside the order on the same page. |

What LegalZoom charges
- Standard$45 + state filing fees
Listed on their page as "Order of Certificate of Good Standing". No processing time is published for this tier.
- Rush$75 + state filing fees
Labelled "Fastest service". Their page says: "Once ready, the certificate is shipped to you via 2-day delivery."
Ours, for comparison: from $50 with the state filing fee already inside the price. Where the state charges $25 or less the total stays $50; above that it is the state fee plus $25, rounded up to the nearest $5. Nothing renews, and there is no account to create. See the exact price for your state.
When LegalZoom is the better pick
If you want a lawyer attached to the transaction, LegalZoom can do that and we cannot; their page puts "ask an attorney" next to the order button and lists phone hours seven days a week. They are also the better fit if you already keep your formation, registered agent and compliance filings in one LegalZoom account and want the certificate to land in the same place. And the arithmetic has a real edge case: in the few states that issue a certificate free or for a couple of dollars, $45 plus almost nothing beats our $50 floor. Check your state before you decide.
